A leading project management and design services company is seeking to hire process engineers on contract for projects in the Dublin area. Successful candidates will work on pharma and biotech projects involving process design and equipment specification.

Job Responsibilities

• Design biopharmaceutical facilities - primary and secondary processing.
• Process calculations and development of PFDs and P&IDs.
• Prepare specifications for process equipment
• Develop basic engineering designs and specifications on assigned contract
• Review and approves equipment RFQ’s, bid tabulations and vendor data
• Ensure that Process Engineering scope is correctly addressed
• Follow and maintains established schedule for the assigned area
• Complete conceptual developments of a major system and performs all necessary calculations for process design of systems and equipment within the assigned area
• Perform relatively complex technical studies under general supervision
• Review and approves equipment bids and vendor data
• Ensure that the process design is in accordance with the environmental requirements

Training and experience

Candidates will have experience gained within the pharmaceutical and /or microelectronics industry either within a design contractor or operating company environment.
The basic requirement is an engineering degree, preferably chemical or related to biotechnology, engineering or a relevant science degree.
The candidate is expected to be knowledgeable and experience in the design, operations and process development of pharmaceutical processes.
The successful candidate will have proven lead experience of Biotech Facility Design including:

a) Technical specification preparation/technical bid evaluation of key upstream and downstream process equipment: Bioreactors, Ultrafiltration, Chromatography, etc.
b) P& ID development through all design stages: conceptual, preliminary, detailed engineering, construction.
c) Excellent knowledge of industry trends in drug substance facility design and operation.
