1. QUALIFICATIONS AND /EXPERIENCE
· Candidates must possess knowledge of child development, family systems and the prevention of substance misuse.

· Qualification and at least three years’ experience in the area of social care, family support, youth and community work or related field

· Experience in developing and implementing programmes and interventions in response to the needs of children and families affected by substance misuse

· Experience of working in collaboration with key agencies in the community, voluntary and statutory sector and the development of case management approaches.

· Understanding, knowledge and experience of child protection issues including the implementation of child protection guidelines.

· Knowledge and experience of financial administration and management.

· Knowledge and experience in managing a staff team

· He/she must be personally motivated and have the ability to work on their own initiative

COORDINATOR OF THE CUMAS PROJECT


The Project Co-coordinator has overall responsibility for the management of the Cumas Project.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES


1. To manage and coordinate the Projects work with children and families in the Clondalkin area, through the provision of a range of services.

2. To facilitate the on-going development and implementation of a strategic plan for the provision of services in line with project aims and objectives.

3. To develop and implement programmes and interventions in response to the needs of children and families affected by substance misuse.

4. To maintain relationships and ensure accountability to funding bodies

5. To have overall responsibility for all the staff of the project, including supervision and support and facilitate the team in continuing to achieve quality practice standards in their work.

6. To have overall responsibility for the project budgets and to assure the efficient management of all financial and administrative matters.

7. To provide a safe, comfortable and confidential environment for those using the services and ensure that health and safety regulations are adhered to

8. To work in a respectful, coordinated and integrated way with other statutory and voluntary agencies, and with communities, in contributing to meet the needs of children and families in Clondalkin.

9. To ensure that all records and files are maintained appropriately and are accessible to service users, as appropriate.

10. To ensure adherence to relevant childcare and other legislation and to other national statutory guidelines.

11. To facilitate and support consultation with service users and to ensure that they have on-going opportunities to offer feedback on the services they receive.

12. To have over responsibility for the premises ‘The Old Supermarket’, ensuring the adherence to the lease agreement, assessment of on-going maintenance, security and safety needs.
