AppleCare – Products Project Manager
(Temporary)
Job description/Overview
Apple’s customer care division (AppleCare), has an extensive range of customer support products and is looking for a highly motivated team player to manage the planning, development and implementation of these products throughout all stages of their life cycles.
The successful candidate will work cross functionally, applying project management methodologies, to ensure seamless product launch and issue resolution during development and production.
This position is also responsible for the streamlining of business processes to gain operational and cost efficiencies throughout the product management process, in conjunction with identifying and driving opportunities to enhance the AppleCare products from a customer experience perspective.
Responsibilities
· Collaborates with Apple Internal teams to ensure that the service and support product line strategies are aligned with the goals of AppleCare, Operations, and customers needs.
· Obtains executive approval for product introduction through the development of product proposals, business plans and presentations.
· Manages, plans and organizes product launches for all channels
· Oversees the entire product life cycle and lead project enhancement activities to improve the customer experience, process and cost efficiencies.
· Develops regional product launch schedules and ensures the business is prepared for the new product. Identifies and manages to major project milestones.
· Assigns key personnel to project teams while balancing business needs and expectations, prioritizes and delegates key project tasks to team members.
· Conducts weekly project meetings and communicates project status on a regular basis.
· Manages project risk throughout the life of the product launch.
· Identifies opportunities for process improvement and develops solutions that target root causes.
· Develops and maintains issues logs to ensure accountability to the resolution of key issues.
· Completes business case /business heads up documentation for Sr. Management signoff.
· Collaborates with Operations to ensure product availability, optimize inventory levels, maximize new product ramp up and minimize product obsolescence exposure.
· Incorporates best practices in Project Management to ensure consistent delivery of a quality project.
· Knowledge of project management methodologies
· Proven ability to manage to critical business deadlines and meet cost constraints
· Excellent communication and presentation skills
· Experience in developing and motivating cross-functional project teams, to meet project-related performance goals through the effective delegation of project management tasks to individual owners within the group.
· Ability to develop new strategies and options to improve customer experience and process efficiencies.
· Excellent organizational and documentation skills
Education and Experience
Preferred BA/BS/BEng degree plus 3-5 years or MA/MS/MBA plus 5-6 years experience, or equivalent.
